DNREC Extends Public Comment Period on Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards

DOVER, Del.- DNREC's Division of Energy & Climate said it has extended the public comment period for a revised proposed regulation to establish how the DNREC division administers the obligations of the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards Act.

The public comment period was to have ended Thursday, Jan. 22, but has been extended until close of business Monday, Feb. 16 in response to requests from the public for additional time to offer comments. Comments may be emailed to Lisa.Vest@state.de.us or sent by mail to Lisa Vest, Hearing Officer, DNREC, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

The Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards Act directs when and whether the director of the Division of Energy & Climate may institute a freeze on the implementation of the state's Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards as provided for in 26 Del. C. § 354(a). The proposed regulation is to establish how the decision of freezing or not freezing of Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards is made. A second public hearing on the proposed regulations was held on January 7, 2015.
