HARTLY, Del.– Delaware State Police are investigating the Wednesday night armed robbery of a Hartly liquor store that left a female employee injured.

According to police, shortly after 8 p.m. a male suspect armed with a long gun entered Nick's Liquors, located at 5782 Forrest Ave.

Troopers say he struck a 57-year-old female store clerk in the face and demanded cash from the register. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and ran away from the store in an unknown direction, according to police.

The store clerk was injured in the altercation, troopers said. She was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, and a white mask covering his face. No surveillance photos are available at this time.
