Dominion Donates $75K for Auschwitz Remembrance Efforts

Posted:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Dominion Resources' charitable arm is donating $75,000 to support efforts to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the infamous Nazi concentration camp.

The Richmond-based energy provider says the donation will support a special concert presented by the Richmond Symphony in partnership with the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center and the Virginia Holocaust Museum. It also will support an extensive exhibit at the museum in Richmond.

Officials say the concert called "Voices of Survival" will be held on Jan. 27, which also is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Auschwitz exhibit will include photos, videos and more in a more than 2,000 square-foot exhibit space.
