Police Make Arrest in Salisbury Shots Fired Case

SALISBURY, Md.– Salisbury police say they have made an arrest in a shots fired investigation in a city neighborhood.

The incident happened Thursday evening.

Police said officers responded to the 300 block of Marshall Street for a report of shots fired.

Authorities said Corey Lamont Curtis Sr. was identified as the person who fired a single shot from a shotgun into the air and then went into his home.

After awhile, officers were able to convince Curtis to exit his home and he was taken into custody.

Detectives said that after a further investigation, they learned there was a confrontation between juveniles as they got off their school bus.

Police said that during the confrontation, parents of the juveniles, including Curtis, began leaving their homes and became involved in the fight.

Investigators said Curtis retaliated by getting a shotgun and firing a single shot into the air.

After firing the shot, police say Curtis went back into the home.

No injuries were reported during the incident and officers said they seized the shotgun.

Curtis is charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and discharging a firearm in city limits.
