Va. Woman's Extradition Sought After Body Found in Va.

ELLISTON, Va. (AP) - Authorities in Virginia are seeking the extradition of a North Carolina woman on a charge related to the discovery of a body in a house where she had once lived.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Friday the remains were found entombed in concrete. The remains were determined to be 70-year-old James H. Austin.

Capt. Brian Wright says police are seeking the extradition of the former occupant of the Elliston house, 52-year-old Janice B. Widenor. He said she was charged Friday in Greensboro, N.C., with unlawful disposal and concealment of a body.

Wright said he believed Austin was an acquaintance of Widenor.

He said the cause of Austin's death has not been determined.

Widenor's name was not listed Friday among the inmates being held at Guilford County Jail in Greensboro.

Many in the area say they're excited about the boardwalk, as it will allow them a closer view of plants and animals in the saltmarsh.
