NORFOLK, Va. (AP)- Norfolk State University interim President Eddie Moore Jr. says the school is addressing problems that led to it being put on probation.
Media outlets report that Moore met with the campus community on Tuesday to discuss a report from the school's accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Moore says all 11 areas cited in the report were clerical problems.
He says the problems included not completing a 2014 audit before the university submitted documents last year. He says the audit has since been completed by the state Auditor of Public Accounts.
The report also said the faculty's role in governance needs to be clarified, along with policies relating to the Board of Visitors.
Norfolk State was placed on probation in December. Moore says the school remains accredited.
