New Del. Transportation Secretary Confirmed by Senate

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Jennifer Cohan has been confirmed as Delaware's new transportation secretary.

Cohan was nominated by Democratic Gov. Jack Markell to replace Shailen Bhatt, who's leaving at the end of the month to become Colorado's transportation director. The state Senate confirmed her on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old Cohan began working for the transportation department in 1989 and has served since 2007 as director of the Division of Motor Vehicles. Markell says her 25 years of experience working for the state have left her well-positioned to "continue strengthening Delaware's transportation network."
