NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Norfolk police are investigating allegations that a police dog bit a woman as she was being arrested.

London Colvin and witnesses say the incident happened Sunday as she left a party.

Colvin's father, witnesses say police stopped her to ask questions about the gathering. They say an officer held Colvin down and the dog attacked the woman's leg, biting her several times.

Colvin, an Army reservist and Norfolk State University student, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  She filed a complaint with police. The officer involved is on administrative duty.

Norfolk police Chief Michael Goldsmith says that on that night, police were investigating 911 calls regarding a party and a street fight.

He says he plans to review his department's policy on the use of dogs.
