Posted: Updated:
NORTH SMYRNA, Del. - Delaware State Police say a man was killed when the car he was driving hit the rear of a dump truck in Smyrna.

The crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. on Route 13 at Duck Creek Road just north of Smyrna between a dump truck and a car, according to police. Troopers say 58-year-old Charles Kobosko of Smyrna was driving south when his car drifted partly into the left-turn lane.

Police say Kobosko's car hit the rear of a dump truck which was stopped in the left-turn lane. Kobosko's car spun around and came to a stop.

Police say the southbound lanes of Route 13 at Duck Creek Road were closed for roughly three hours.

The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating this crash.
