Fire Officials Rule Lewes Barn Fire Caused by Arson

LEWES, Del.- Investigators have ruled arson as the cause of a fire that severely damaged a barn in Lewes on Friday night.

According to the Office of the Delaware State Fire Marshal, the blaze broke out shortly before 11 p.m. at a 50- by 100-foot barn located off of Gills Neck Road.

Firefighters from the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department and the Rehoboth Beach, Milton, Indian River and Memorial Volunteer Fire Companies were dispatched.

The total damage is estimated to be about $150,000. No injuries were reported.
