NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark Police say a man suffered a serious hand injury when he was cut during a robbery.

Officers say the man was walking with an acquaintance on O'Daniel Avenue about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday when a third man armed with a knife demanded his property.

Authorities say the victim grabbed the knife, but the acquaintance joined the knife-wielding suspect in assaulting the victim.

Police say the suspects, whom the victim knew, took money and jewelry from him and fled.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital.

Investigators identified the suspects as 21-year-old Daquan Stevenson and his brother, 24-year-old Roland Stevenson, both of Newark. Police arrested Daquan Stevenson at his home. He is charged with robbery, assault and other offenses.

Police have issued a warrant charging Roland Stevenson with the same offenses.
