Maryland Business Climate Study to be Released

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Economic development and business in Maryland are the focus of a commission study being released by General Assembly leaders.

The findings of the Maryland Economic Development Business Climate Commission are set to be released Thursday by Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller and House Speaker Michael Busch.

The Democrat lawmakers will be joined by commission chairman Norman Augustine, former president of Lockheed Martin.

This is the first phase of the commission's study, and includes observations and recommendations about the state of business in Maryland.

Last week Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, warned Maryland's economy was "floundering" during his first State of the State address, leaving many Democrats bristling at the negative characterization.
