91-Year-Old Woman Tied Up After Home Invasion

MILFORD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say left a 91-year-old woman tied up after a home invasion in Milford.

It happened about 3 a.m. Monday on Melody Lane. Police say a man entered a home while the woman was sleeping, tied her up and stole cash and jewelry. Troopers say the man fled in the victim's car.

Officers say a relative of the woman who became concerned when she couldn't reach the victim by phone found her still tied up about 3:30 p.m. Monday. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers obtained warrants for 26-year-old Dustin Niebert of Ellendale in the crimes. He is charged with home invasion, robbery, assault and other offenses.
