DelDOT Warns Drivers of Hazardous Road Conditions

DOVER, Del. – Officials from the Delaware Department of Transportation are asking motorists to drive with caution this weekend, even though it has been a few days since the state had any measurable snowfall.

DelDOT says there are persistent issues with drifting across some roads since the temperatures remain low.

Officials saw motorists should watch for icy spots in various locations. Since the temperatures are so low, salt is dramatically less effective at melting ice, so many of those icy patches remain.

DelDOT crews will continue to work Friday evening, plowing and applying salt where necessary.

For Saturday, officials warn that because ground temperatures are so low, any rain or sleet that might fall during the transition will likely freeze among impact with the road surface.
