Cold Temperatures Hit Maryland

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. – Driving around Wicomico County one was able to see a little bit of everything. Blowing snow, icy roads, and people bundled. Postal worker Tim Beyer had to work Friday. “You wear a lot of layers so we deal with it” Beyer said.

We found Shannon Pickett standing at the bust stop. “It's terrible” Pickett said, “You can't even feel your hands. Your feet get numb.”

Pumping gas was no different. “It's cold when the wind comes real hard. You don't know when it's coming. It comes every blue moon and it's freezing cold” BJ White said.

Cold temperatures also meant frozen roads and dangerous driving conditions. On Friday temperatures dipped as low as 6°. If not dressed properly, it could take as little as 30 to 45 minutes before frost bite sets in.

A weekend reprieve is expected but more cold temperatures could come next week.
