Cold Temps Gives Delaware Students Another Day Off

Posted:

DOVER, Del.- Schools in Delaware were closed for the day Friday, but not because of the snow. This time, it was because of the freezing cold temperatures.

Students like Polytech junior Elainah Boyles used the day off to unwind.

"I've been relaxing a lot," said Boyles. "It's good to sit down because I never have that much time to just not do anything."

With her hectic schedule during the week, Boyles used the day off to catch up to speed with her school work.

"I like having off school because I can get homework done and just have time before work to just sit down and relax," said Boyles.

Polytech sophomore, Jasmine Bunklny, was caught off guard by the extra day off of school.

"I was like yes. I was not expecting that at all. I was so happy," said Bunklny. "I really needed the extra day."

Bunklny spent the day with her dad applying for jobs. Spending more days at home than at school this week has given her plenty of free time to relax.

"It's just like a relief," explained Bunklny. "We only got to go to school for like two days this week. Everybody loves that. Every student loves that."

These students will have to head back into the classroom sooner or later. But they're happy they at least had a few days off thanks to Mother Nature.
