Dover Man Wanted for Burglary Incident

DOVER, Del.– Dover police are looking for a man wanted for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and causing extensive damage to its contents. 

Police said that shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 34-year-old George Jones Jr. broke into his former girlfriend's apartment in the Pine Grove Apartments at 255 Webbs Lane. The couple's relationship had ended earlier in the day, which caused Jones to become interested in her area of home, police said.

Investigators said the victim had left her apartment complex, but Jones followed her for more than an hour. Police said that during this time, Jones sent 59 text messages and attempted to call her 119 times, some containing threatening intentions.

Invesgiators said Jones returned to the victim's apartment, where he broke in by damaging the main door. While inside, Jones wrote vulgar messages on the door, stole numerous items and threw bleach on many personal belongings, police said.

Then, Jones sent pictures of the damages were sent to the victim's cellphone, according to police.

Jones has not been located or heard from since the incident, police said. Jones' last known address is in the 200 block of Chenault Court in Dover.
