BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP)- Virginia Tech President Timothy D. Sands will lead a committee that will conduct a search for a new provost.
The search committee will be co-chaired by Paul Knox, university distinguished professor and senior fellow for international advancement.
Virginia Tech announced the committee's members on Monday in a news release. They include professors, administrators and student representatives.
Provost and senior vice president Mark G. McNamee announced earlier this month that he plans to step down when a successor is named. He has served as provost for 14 years.
The university says the committee will hold two town hall meetings on Feb. 25 in Squires Student Center.
