Ford's Theatre Museum Reopens After Water Leak

WASHINGTON (AP) - The museum at the Ford's Theatre National Historic Site in Washington has reopened a week after a water leak flooded the museum floor.

The museum reopened Wednesday and resumed normal hours for the week. The museum had been closed since Feb. 18 due to a water leak caused by a mechanical failure and frozen pipes.

National Park Service spokesman Mike Litterst says about an inch of water was found in the museum last week.

The museum is located under the historic theater where President Abraham Lincoln was shot. Both are big tourist draws.

The National Park Service says no museum artifacts have been affected by the water. Museum curators were on site monitoring humidity levels and other conditions.

The theater's production of "The Widow Lincoln" has gone on as scheduled.
