Salisbury Woman Charged With Illegal Drug Possession

SALISBURY, Md. – Police have arrested and charged a Salisbury woman for drug possession after a traffic stop turned up bags of crack cocaine and marijuana in her vehicle, officers say.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Seminole Boulevard in Salisbury for an equipment violation Friday at 9:46 p.m.

Upon making contact with the driver, 39-year-old Queenemma Makoa, the deputy smelled marijuana and conducted a search of her person and the vehicle. Police say that search revealed nine baggies of crack cocaine and one baggie of marijuana.

The deputy placed Makoa under arrest. She was detained on drug charges in lieu of $5,000, according to the district court commissioner.
