CAMBRIDGE, Md.- A woman claims a stranger stayed in her apartment at the Hyatt in Cambridge for weeks at her invitation but then refused to move out.

Marla Garris said she was invited into the home of Gloria Rojas at the end of last year. Garris said she paid $35 in utilities but no rent.

Since Garris was not paying any rent, she was not considered a tenant, Rojas said. However, both police and a judge thought otherwise.

According to officials, Rojas originally filed trespassing charges but a judge decided the other woman had every right to be there.

Garris was acquitted of all trespassing charges. However, Rojas said she still worries for her safety.
