Suspects Sought in Two Northern Del. Holdups

NEW CASTLE, Del.- Delaware State Police are searching for suspects wanted in connection with a pair of robberies that took place in New Castle and Newark.

Police said that shortly before noon Sunday, a suspect armed with a handgun of an unknown make and model, entered an Exxon gas station in New Castle and demanded money from the cashier. The employee, a 23 year old male, then gave an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect before he fled southbound towards US Route 13.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 45-55 and standing about 6-foot-tall. He was estimated as weighing 185-210 pounds and was seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatshirt, blue jeans, sneakers and a gray hat. He was armed with a gun and no surveillance footage is available. The employee was not injured in the incident/

A second robbery occurred later that afternoon in Newark. Two suspects, armed with handguns of an unknown make and model, entered a BP gas station and proceeded to rob the story. The BP employee, a 53-year-old female, turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspects before they fled. The employee was not injured in the incident.

The first suspect is described as being a black male with an estimated weight of 180-200 pounds. He was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, sneakers, and a gray hat.

The second suspect is described as a black male, also weighing between 180-200 pounds. He was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.

Anyone with additional information about these holdups is asked to call the robbery unit at Troop 2, Glasgow, at (302) 834-2630 .
