Dover Police Officer Injured While Arresting Man For Drug Possession


DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say two people were arrested and one officer was injured Monday during a drug operation in a Dover hotel room.

Officers say they made contact with Karl Ingram, 29, and Gabriella Rivera, 22, both of Dover, shortly after noon in a room at the Red Roof Inn on North DuPont Highway.

According to police, Ingram fled the scene and put up a struggle with the officer who caught up with him, causing minor injury to the officer.

Rivera was arrested without incident inside the hotel room where two children were also present.

Police say they found 94.4 grams of cocaine, 5.4 grams of marijuana and prescription pills on Ingram's person. They also seized $3,258.

Ingram was charged and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $34,000 cash bond, while Rivera was released on $24,000 unsecured bond.
