Suspect Sought in Del. Shooting

Posted: Updated:
CAMDEN, Del.– Delaware State Police are searching for a suspect considered armed and dangerous following a shooting Monday evening in Kent County.

It happened in the area of David Hall Road and Daniel Rodney Drive, in Camden's Rodney Village neighborhood. The call came in just before 5 p.m.

Troopers said a 25-year-old male victim was shot in his lower torso. He was taken to an area hospital where he was admitted. There is no word yet on his condition.

Edward Lorea lives right where the shooting happened. He said he heard the initial gunshots, then saw more gunfire and saw the victim on the ground.

"It's kind of scary - you know, a total disregard for life," he said. "I mean, there were kids out there playing in a backyard on the swing set in the general direction those bullets were going. Thankfully none of them were hit."

Police searched the area for the unknown suspect who they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Troop 3 at (302) 697-2104. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
