Four Finalists in Running for Wytheville Community College President

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Four finalists have been chosen for the president's job at Wytheville Community College.

The candidates include Hara D. Charlier, vice president of instruction and student services for Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon; Michael M. Robinson, superintendent of Smyth County Public Schools; Mark A. Smith, vice president for educational services and chief academic officer at Temple College in Temple, Texas, and Dean E. Sprinkle, senior vice president of instruction at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

The State Board for Community Colleges announced its certification of the finalists on Wednesday.

On-campus candidate interviews will be conducted in April. The commission says Chancellor Glenn DuBois hopes to appoint a new president by May 1.

Wytheville Community College President Charlie White is retiring after serving more than eight years.
