UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - A Prince George's County police officer is facing assault charges after prosecutors say he held a gun to a man's head.

Officials said Friday that a grand jury indicted Officer Jenchesky Santiago on assault and misconduct in office and other charges.

Prosecutors say Santiago told two men in front of a Bowie home in May that they were parked illegally when they weren't. The driver explained that he was dropping off his cousin. When his cousin tried to go inside, prosecutors say Santiago put his gun to the man's head and forced him back into the car.

Prosecutors say Santiago threatened the men, saying, "We're PGPD, we shoot people."

Much of the incident was captured on cellphone video.

The police chief announced Friday that Santiago is suspended without pay.
