Newark Robbery Suspects at Large

NEWARK, Del.- The Newark Police Department is searching for two men wanted for robbing a woman at knifepoint on March 22. 

According to authorities, the 61-year-old victim was walking to her car on O'Daniel Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m. when two men attacked her. Investigators say the victim claimed the suspects pushed her against her car, held a knife to her throat, and demanded money, before taking the victim's wallet from her purse.  

The victim sustained a minor scratch and redness to the face, but no medical attention was needed.

The suspect with the knife was described as a black male, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-0, heavy build, wearing dark clothing and a hooded shirt covering his head. The second suspect was described as a white male, between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-0, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a hooded shirt covering his head.

    A Snow Hill man is in critical condition after a shooting Friday night. The Snow Hill Police Department responded to a shooting, or shots fired, call at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of W. Federal Street and Ross Street in Snow Hill. Police said they found Deron Raymont Ames, 25, of Snow Hill, laying along the edge of the roadway near the curb. Police said Ames was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
