4 Teenage Boys Arrested for Breaking 30 Car Windshields in Milford

Posted:
MILFORD, Del. - Milford police say four teenagers were arrested Monday for breaking the front windshields on 30 vehicles throughout the city.

Police say they arrested and charged three 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy, all of Milford, stemming from multiple incidents that occurred from March 13 through March 23 in Milford.

They were charged with 29 counts of criminal mischief under $1,000, three counts of attempted criminal mischief under $1,000, seven counts of third degree conspiracy, and one count of resisting arrest, according to police.

Police say their investigation revealed that all four teenagers walked throughout the city limits on the above mentioned dates breaking out vehicles' front windshields. Detectives discovered the boys would jump onto the hood of the vehicles and stomp on the front windshield until it busted out.

Monday night, police say it was reported to them that a group of  boys had just busted out a vehicle windshield and fled on foot. The Milford Police Patrol and K-9 Division responded to the area and located the boys. After a brief foot pursuit, all four were taken into custody, according to police. Authorities say it was later discovered that the boys had damaged 15 vehicle windshields just Monday alone.

Police say all four teenagers were later released on secured bond to the custody of their parents. This case is still under investigation with additional charges pending.
