Maryland Agricultural Commission Seeks Nominations

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland Agricultural Commission is seeking nominations for eleven positions.

The Maryland Agricultural Commission is an advisory body to the Secretary of Agriculture. As a group, Commission members address legislative and policy issues that affect agribusiness in Maryland.

The open positions include Agriculture Education, Agri-Tourism, Bio-fuels, Consumer, Dairy, Field Crops, Horticulture, Nursery, Organic, Turf and Veterinary.

Applicants must be Maryland residents and have experience in the field they are interested in representing in order to be considered. Governor Larry Hogan makes appointments and each member is eligible to serve two three-year appointed terms. The Commission meets the second Wednesday every month from 9 a.m. until noon throughout the year.
