Va. Chemical Company Announces $89 Million Expansion

HOPEWELL, Va. (AP) - A Hopewell chemical company is investing $89 million to expand its operations and add jobs.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Ashland Inc.'s expansion on Thursday.
The governor's office says the specialty chemical company will make the investment over the next three years, increasing its production capacity and creating 17 jobs. The company employs 237.
Ashland produces specialty chemical solutions for a wide array of products, including architectural coatings and automotive products, among many others.
McAuliffe said he approved a $700,000 grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program as an incentive for Ashland's expansion. The company could also be eligible for other state benefits.
