Police Say Denton Attempted Armed Robbery Possibly Linked to Milford Armed Robbery

DENTON, Md. – Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery of a bank in Denton that officers believe also held up a Milford bank at gunpoint Thursday.

Denton Police responded to the PNC Bank located at 812 South Fifth Avenue in Denton around 3:30 p.m. Officers say the African-American male suspect displayed a small, semi-automatic handgun and fled the bank upon being surprised by a uniformed security guard. According to police, the suspect got into a nearby waiting vehicle, described as a maroon or lighter colored passenger car, possibly a 1999 or newer Chevy Impala.

The vehicle had Maryland tags. The driver is described as a white female with long, blonde hair.

Officers say the suspect was wearing a black knit cap, a black jacket, grey sweatpants and black tennis shoes with a white stripe.

This is the same physical description matching the suspect in an armed bank robbery in Milford about an hour later.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Denton Police Department at 410-479-1414 or via email at tips@dentonmdpolice.com and refer to case number 1504020023.
