Husband of Missing Smyrna Woman Charged With Her Murder

Posted:

SMYRNA, Del. – A 32-year-old man previously charged with endangering the welfare of a child has now been charged with the murder of his wife, missing for nearly three months.

A Kent County Grand Jury indicted Cortez Hamilton on a first-degree murder charge on Monday in the death of Keisha Hamilton, of Smyrna, last seen January 10.

Hamilton was arrested in Indiana on January 10 on charges of assault possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police say he was extradited back to Delaware on January 22 and sent to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $402,000 cash bond.

Though Hamilton's wife is still missing, prosecutors believe there is sufficient evidence to bring the murder charge.
