PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (WBOC/AP) - A funeral is planned next weekend for a father and his seven children who died of carbon monoxide poisoning at their home in Princess Anne.

The funeral for 36-year-old Rodney Eric Todd and his children will be held April 18 at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. A viewing is set to begin at 10 a.m. and funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. at the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the Performing Arts.

Princess Anne police said Todd and his children, ranging in age from 6 to in their teens, were poisoned in their sleep days after the Delmarva Power company discovered a stolen meter and cut off electricity to their home on Antioch Avenue. Todd put a generator in his kitchen. They were last seen alive on March 28 and were found dead Monday.

The Bennie Smith Funeral Home says a burial location has not been announced.

House Bill 612 aims to place AR-15 HBAR rifles as a "regulated firearm."  If passed by the house, the law would only grandfather in rifles purchased after October 1, 2013. Those purchased after 2013 would have to be returned.
