Rebates Available For Energy Efficient Upgrades to Del. Homes

Posted:

DOVER, Del. – Homeowners who make upgrades that increase energy efficiency are now eligible for even higher rebates from Energize Delaware.

Under the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, home improvements completed between now and the end of the year can earn Delaware homeowners up to $6,750. This is a $2,250 increase from last year.

Through the end of 2015, homeowners can also receive a 75% discount on the cost of a comprehensive home energy audit up to $300.

If homeowners make the changes recommended in the audit, they can save an additional 20% on utility costs.

Lastly, qualifying homeowners may receive special 5.99% financing up to $15,000 for energy-saving home improvements through AFC First.

Making such changes benefits homeowners in multiple ways, according to Energize Delaware's Executive Director Tony DePrima.

“Energy upgrades not only help you save energy and money, but also enhance indoor air quality, making your home healthier and more livable and your family more comfortable all year round,” he said. “And these rebates make it easy to get all the benefits of energy efficiency upgrades plus get cash back.”

Homeowners can find a participating contractor and schedule a comprehensive home energy audit online or call (877) 524-1339 to speak with an energy advisor.
