Search for Pittsville Dollar General Robber Continues

PITTSVILLE, Md. - The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation is looking for any information that can lead to the arrest of a suspect investigators say robbed a Wicomico County Dollar store at gunpoint.

Authorities say on Sunday, March 29 just before midnight, the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the Dollar General located on Sixty Foot Road in Pittsville for a reported armed robbery.

Police say an unknown suspect entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the employees. Police say the suspect then took off -- prior to their arrival.

Police say there were no injuries during the incident.

Surveillance footage on showed the suspect from the back. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black gloves, black shoes with white soles, and blue jeans. He was also wearing a black face mask at the time of the robbery.

Police say the suspect took off in a dark-colored Dodge Charger with a Maryland license plate. They say the plate was a "War of 1812" tag and it contained the number 8.
