Plane makes emergency landing in Ohio amid tire fire report

Posted:
DAYTON, Ohio (AP)- Authorities at a southwest Ohio airport say a passenger plane has made an emergency landing after reports that one of its tires were on fire.

Dayton International Airport spokeswoman Linda Hughes says the plane landed safely shortly after 9 a.m. Monday. Pilots had received an indication of a problem, but she says the plane landed without incident.

Hughes says there are no reports of any injuries.

The plane was on its way from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Milwaukee when it diverted to Dayton's airport. A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman in Chicago said the plane was operated by PSA Airlines.

Hughes didn't immediately have other information on the plane.
