Ford's Theatre Hosting Round-the-clock Tribute for Lincoln

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ford's Theatre is commemorating the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination with tours and performances around the clock.

The theater where Lincoln was shot will commemorate his death Tuesday and Wednesday with extensive access to the site, tours and panel discussions. On Tuesday night, the theater will host a tribute performance for Lincoln, followed by a candlelight vigil outside. A free simulcast of the tribute will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery.

On Wednesday morning at the moment when Lincoln died at 7:22 a.m., the National Park Service will host a wreath-laying ceremony, and a brass band will play taps. At 8 a.m., bells will toll at location across Washington in Lincoln's honor.

Tickets are required for events in the theater but not for outdoor programs.
