DSU vs. Howard in Final Home Game of the 2015 Season

DOVER, Del.- The Delaware State University lacrosse team is aiming to end its season on top, in a home game against Howard on Tuesday.
DSU scored the team's first win on Apr. 8 against the District of Columbia (18-4). Howard is 0-7 this season. The Hornets and Bison have played six common opponents this season, with each of the teams falling to LIU-Brooklyn, Stetson, Mercer, Detriot, Robert Morris and Kennesaw State.
Howard has won two previous games with the teams, beating the Hornets 17-4 in DSU's first season in 2013; and posting a 17-9 victory over the Hornets in 2014.
DSU has four players who have scored double figures this season. Sophomore Emily Etkins, has set another school record for scoring 22 goals. She held the previous record of 20 goals in 2014. Etkins also has five assists to lead the team to 25 points. She has scored a goal in each of the last 11 games.
Lauren Perry (so.) is second on the team with 12 goals and is tied for second with a total of 14 points. She scored on goal in each of the last seven games. Kayla Yurkanin (so.) and Miranda Hawkins (jr.) are tied for third on the team with a total score of 11 goals each.
The Hornets are 1-13 this season, and the Howard contest also marks the final appearance for Hornet's seniors Chris Glen, Sierra Harris and Kimberly Jivers, members of the inaugural DSU lacrosse team in 2013. Game time is at 4 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
