Christiansen Re-Elected As Dover Mayor

DOVER, Del. (WBOC) - Election Day in Dover turned out to be a good one for incumbent Mayor Robin Christiansen. Voters re-elected Christiansen with over 65 percent of the votes (1.390) which was more than double that of former Dover mayor Carleton Carey (622 votes). George Gaudioso finished third in the Mayoral voting with 104 votes.

Christiansen was first elected ten months ago to serve the time remaining on Carey's term - after Carey resigned in April 2014.

In the races for city council, recently-retired Dover Police Chief Jim Hosfelt beat out incumbent Beverly Williams for the 1st District seat by a twenty percentage point margin, 60 to 40 percent.

The 2nd District went to Brian Lewis, who ran unopposed.

Fred Neil defeated Chevis Anderson for the 3rd District seat with Neil taking home 70 percent of the vote in that race. Current Council President Dave Bonar was knocked out of the 3rd District Council seat by challenger Scott Cole.  Cole received 59 percent of the vote to Bonar's 41 percent.

The 4th District City Council seat goes to Roy Sudler Jr., who beat our competitors Ken Roach and Wallace Dixon.
