Bridgeville Police Warn Residents About Phone Scams

Posted: Updated:
BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- Police in Sussex County are warning residents about two phone scams.

According to the Bridgeville Police Department, over the last few days, they've received several calls regarding two different phone scams. They say the first one is someone claiming they are from Publishers Clearing House stating that the person won a large sum of money.

Police say the second scam is one stating the caller is from the IRS and threatening that the person is under investigation for tax evasion.

Bridgeville Police say you should know the IRS does not make these kind of calls and to please share with friends and family, especially the elderly.
