Chalk Art Memorial Event for Todd Family Postponed

Posted: Updated:
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - A final memorial for the Princess Anne family who was found dead in their home earlier this month from Carbon Monoxide poisoning, has been postponed due to the weather.

A chalk art memorial event for Rodney Todd and his seven children was supposed to happened on Sunday, but organizers say, due to the rain that's being forecasted, it has been moved to Sunday, May 3.

The event will be held at the corner of Antioch Avenue and Beckford Avenue from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The community is asked to come out and express their grief and memories of the Todd Family through chalk art. Organizers say the mural will be to express the community's love, support and memories of the family.

Pastor Cheryl Hollis, who is leading the event, says after the community pieces together their artwork, local art teachers will come out and connect the individual drawings into one large mural. She says the finished piece will be a large "T" for the Todd Family.

Hollis also adds that she hopes to be able to get an aerial picture taken of the finished mural so it can be hung in the schools in Somerset County as a tribute to the family.
