SALISBURY, Md. -- Several dozen vendors are serving up all kinds of food for "Pork in the Park" in Salisbury April 24-25.

Visitors will have more to look forward to at this year's festival even though the event will not last the entire weekend as it did years before.

Wicomico County's Director of Marketing for tourism, Kristen Goller, says by Sunday foot traffic usually slows down and vendors sometimes go home early.

To make up for losing one day of fun, event organizers are bringing in new entertainment.

"We really made an effort to make the festival even more family friendly then it has been in the past," said Kristen Goller.

"We have about 15 inflatables around so kids can come around and do unlimited bounces all day for a wristband that's only $10. We have face painting, balloon animals, we'll have a magician," continued Goller.

And the magic won't stop there.

"We have pig races and hot dog races this year. This is also something new. They'll be going on in between the main stage entertainment," she said.

Also new to the festival this year are some foods that may have visitors taste buds going hog wild.

Bruce Kramer co-owns a line of bacon jam, a fusion of bacon bits, spices and jams.

"There's pork in the park, shouldn't there be bacon in the park? It actually started as something I was making for Eagles tailgates," said Kramer.

For Baltimore native Alexis McBride, pigging out on all the sweet treats available was the main thing on her mind.

"The funnel cakes! I saw a cake stand, I want to try a pineapple cake and a coconut cake over there so I might go taste that," said McBride, who's been attending the festival for five years.

"Pork in the Park" opens Friday April 24 at 4pm and reopens Saturday April 25 at 10am lasting until 10:00pm.

New street signs are popping up in Dewey Beach, and some aren't happy about it.

These new directional signs, Delaware's Department of Transportation says, were implemented to prevent crashes along Route 1.

But some say it's done the opposite of helping and has created more confusion.
