DOVER, Del. – A Sussex County man is not allowed to hunt turkeys in Delaware for two years after being charged with illegal hunting practices.

Natural Resources Police from the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife arrested Ronald A. Buggenhagen, 74, of Frankford, on Monday following an investigation.

Police charged him with taking over-the-limit of wild turkeys, failing to check a wild turkey, hunting wild turkeys over a baited area and unlawful possession of wild birds.

According to officers, Buggenhagen pled guilty to all charges and was fined $1,755. DNREC says is also prohibited from hunting turkeys in Delaware for two years.

Buggenhagen forfeited three wild turkey beards, a turkey tail fan and a hawk tail fan, all seized as evidence, wildlife officials said.
