Federalsburg Man Arrested in Hurlock Narcotics Investigation

HURLOCK, Md. - A Federalsburg man is facing drug charges after he was arrested as part of a covert narcotics investigation in Hurlock, Md., according to police.

Authorities with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Hurlock Police Department, Cambridge Police Department and the Maryland State Police say they conducted the investigation in the Prospect Heights area of Hurlock Thursday. Police say as a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Formonte Darnell West was arrested and a large amount of drugs were seized.

Police say they collected 73.8 grams of crack cocaine, 30.8 grams of powdered cocaine, 66.7 grams of heroin (216 bags), $75 in money, two electronic scales and a cell phone during the drug bust.

West was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, failure to obey a lawful order, possession of 66.7 grams of heroin and possession of 73.8 grams of crack cocaine. West was ordered Held without bond, according to police.
