Del. State Police Investigating Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer

Posted: Updated:
FREDERICA, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and tractor-trailer in Kent County.

Police say it happened around 3:45 p.m. on Bay Road in the area of the Barratts Chapel Road north of Frederica.

According to police, Barry Nocus, 46, of New Jersey, was driving a Perdue tractor-trailer southbound on Bay Road. Troopers said Nocus was slowing down for a previous collision, when a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse struck the truck from behind.

Police said 52-year-old Vivian Harding of Harrington was driving the car. Police said looked down to pick up a cigarette when  she struck the rear of the truck.

Police say Nocus was not injured, but Harding was transported by ambulance to the Milford Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
