Maryland State Trooper Injured in Salisbury Crash

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities say a Maryland State Police trooper was injured in a crash on the Salisbury Bypass late Tuesday night.

State police said that at around 9:40 p.m., Sgt. Anthony S. Myers, 46, of Salisbury, was operating his patrol car, an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria, westbound on the Salisbury Bypass west of Northwood Drive when the car lost control and went off the right side of the roadway. The Crown Victoria then struck a guardrail and overturned, rolling down an embankment.

Police said Myers was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries and released.

The intersection  was shut down for approximately three and a hour hours while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Myers is currently assigned to the MSP Forestville Barrack, police said.
