MILFORD, Del. - Police in Milford have arrested two people in connection to a stabbing at an apartment complex last week.

Police said Friday, 23-year-old Markensy Mondestin, of Milford got into a fight with a 20-year-old male victim at the Brightway Commons Apartment Complex on May 2. During the fight, police say Mondestin stabbed the victim with a multi-purpose bladed tool. Police say he took off in a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Rosheda Gould, of Ellendale.

Once police caught up with them and took Mondestin into custody, authorities say Gould attempted to hide the tool that was used in the incident. Police say Gould failed to comply with the officer's orders and physically resisted as the officers attempted to retrieve the tool and take Gould into custody. Police say Gould continued to struggle and was tasered before taken into custody.

Police say the victim was taken to Milford Bayhealth Hospital with multiple stab wounds to his lower extremities. Police say he was treated for his injuries and released.

Mondestin was charged with second-degree assault and carrying a concealed dangerous instrument and Gould was charged with tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest, according to police. Modenstin was arraigned and released on $5,500 unsecured bond and Gould was arraigned and released on $1,500 unsecured bond, police said.
