OCEAN CITY, Md. - A routine traffic stop led to a police chase and finally, an arrest Saturday in Ocean City, according to police.

The Ocean City Police Department said Monday, they attempted to pull over 30-year-old Kevin R. Joiner, of Church Hill, Md. on his motorcycle Saturday afternoon on Philadelphia Avenue near 8th Street after they say Joiner ran a red light. Police said Joiner took off, making several unsafe lane changes, several illegal U-turns, and traveling against the flow of traffic, nearly hitting multiple vehicles.

Police said Joiner approached the intersection of Philadelphia Avenue and 2nd Street, when he ran through another red light and nearly struck a family of six who was crossing the road. Police said Joiner then hit a small Sedan and was thrown from his motorcycle. Police say Joiner then attempted to run away but was quickly detained and placed under arrest by officers.

Joiner was charged with multiple traffic violations including driving with a suspended and revoked license, according to police. He was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released after posting $20,000 bond, police said.
