MILFORD, Del- A Milford woman is facing assault and related charges following accusations that she stabbed two people outside a downtown apartment complex.

Milford police said that on the evening of May 9,  the Milford Police Criminal Division, Patrol Division, K-9 Division, Delaware State Police, along with Harrington and Milton police, responded to the Silver Lake Estates apartment complex after receiving a report of a large fight with a crowd of approximately 50 people.

Upon arrival, officers said they discovered that two male victims, ages 21 and 25, had been injured during the fight and that the 21-year-old victim had been transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital. A short time later, the 25-year-old victim was also transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital.

Police said officers and troopers later responded to Milford Bayhealth Hospital after a large crowd of approximately 40 people had gathered at the hospital in connection with the large fight that had occurred at Silver Lake Estates.

Detectives said they then learned that a fight had broken out between several people near Silver Lake Estates earlier in the evening. During this incident, police said a 22-year-old victim was assaulted and robbed of his personal property by a male suspect who was in the company of four other males. Police said that as a result, a female suspect, identified as 45-year-old Sharon A. Smith, of Milford, confronted the males about the robbery of the 22-year-old male victim. Investigators said Smith used a knife to stab the 21-year-old male victim in the abdomen and to stab the 25-year-old male victim in the arm. Smith then attempted to dispose of the knife prior to officers' arrival, police said.

Smith was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree asssault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and tampering with physical evidence. She was ordered held in default of $76,000  secured bond. The 25-year-old male victim was treated and released. Police said the 21-year-old male victim was admitted with a serious disembowelment and is in stable condition.

Police said one of the suspects in the robbery of the 22-year-old male victim was identified as 19-year-old Taevon Potts, of Milford. On May 10, Potts was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy and third-degree assault. Potts was ordered held in default of $8,000 secured bond.

Police said this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
