25th Annual Cruisin' Ocean City Drives Visitors Into Town

OCEAN CITY, Md.- The 25th Annual Cruisin' Ocean City returns to the resort town this weekend.

The event kicked off Thursday and will lead into Sunday afternoon where the weekend will commence at the Ocean City Inlet.

According to event organizers, this is a nationally recognized weekend that attracts more than 3,500 customs, hot rods, street machines and classics from over 20 states.

Tom Wopat, from the classic TV show The Dukes of Hazzard is scheduled to appear at the event Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Christie Brimberry will also be joining the crowd who many may now from the TV show Fast N' Loud and Gas Monkey Garage.

Event organizers say car shows will be taking place at the Convention Center parking lot as well as the Ocean City Inlet parking lot.

Kicking off the event Thursday night was The Doo Wop Project live in concert at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center located inside the Ocean City Convention Center. Also on Thursday, the Express Auctioneer's Hot Rod and Custom Car Auction took place and plans to continue throughout the weekend.

Event organizers say the Cruisin' Pin Up Contest will be held Saturday night at the 28th Street Pit & Pub at 8 p.m.

There will be parades on the boardwalk throughout the weekend starting at 8 a.m.

Lastly, the Grand Finale Awards will take place at the Beachside Inlet where event organizers say there will be more than 500 trophies, plaques and awards presented.
